Hanging a gallery wall that looks curated

Anchor pieces, spacing rules and the floor-first trick for a wall that looks curated, not crowded.

A gallery wall is a composition, not a pile of frames. Start with one anchor piece — usually the largest — and build outward, keeping 5 to 8 centimetres between frames.

Mix sizes but repeat one element: the same frame colour, one recurring accent, or a shared theme like our Ancient Greece series. That repetition is what makes an eclectic wall feel intentional.

Lay the arrangement on the floor first, photograph it, then transfer it to the wall starting from the centre. Step back often — the wall reads differently from two metres away.
